BOARD MEETINGS
REGULAR AND SPECIAL MEETINGS
REGULAR MEETINGS
Regular meetings of the Navarro College Board of Trustees are held on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. or at such other times as determined by the Chairman. Every meeting of the board shall be open to the public. The board may, however, exclude a witness from a hearing during the examination of another witness in a matter being investigated and may enter into a closed meeting, as provided by law.
Robert’s Rules of Order for the Board as a Deliberative Assembly (Chapter II) will be used in conducting board meetings.
SPECIAL MEETINGS
Special meetings of the Board of Trustees may be called by the Chairman or by the District President, with the approval of the Chairman.
NOTICE REQUIRED
The board shall give written notice of the date, hour, place, and subject(s) of each meeting it holds in accordance with V.T.C.A. Government Code Chapter 551.
MINUTES
The Navarro College Board of Trustees shall prepare and keep minutes or make a recording of each open meeting of the body. The minutes shall state the subject matter of each deliberation and indicate each vote, order, decision, or other action taken. The minutes and recordings are public records and shall be available for public inspection and copying on request to Navarro College’s District President or designee.
